NailSpa and Genevieve International Academy join hands with VTA to train nail care specialists

In a move to bridge the skills gap in manicure sector and improve the employability in nail care and makeup professions in Sri Lanka, Genevieve International Academy (GIA) the training center of NailSpa (Pvt) Ltd signed a memorandum of understanding with the National Vocational Training Authority.

The signing of MOU took place, recently, at the National Vocational Training Authority , Narahenpita with the participation of Mr. S.K. Rajapaksha Chairman (acting) /CEO of NVTA and other senior officers including Deputy Chairman Mr. Chatura De Silva while on the part of GIA Mrs. Nilanthi Genevieve Weerasinghe ,Managing Director, Nimesha S. Jayasooriya-Director Training & Marketing , and Thushanthi N. Sumanaweera- Deputy General Manager were gracing the occasion.

The MOU opens the door for VTA to conduct courses in nail care and semi-permeant makeup courses in collaboration with GIA. Nail care and beauty care is a promising sector for those who are seeking jobs overseas as well as in urban areas.

Located in No. 145/2B, Park Road, Colombo 5,Genevieve International Academy conducts nail technology and semi-permanent makeup courses for small groups. GIA provides Cuccio USA certification for their students and Genevieve International Academy certificates are also provided for semi – Permanent makeup courses. Nailspa (Pvt) Ltd, founded and fully owned by Ms. Nilanthi Genevieve Weerasinghe, is a Nail Salon Network built to upscale nail care, providing professional nail services in a pleasurable environment.. GIA & Nailspa has Internship program for GIA students to get their experience in the industry. NailSpa (Pvt) Ltd is providing a service letter to all trained interns/ staff that have been completed their service for more than 3 months.

Nimesha Jayasuriya

Marketing & Training Director

Nimesha Jayasuriya has over 25 years of experience in Marketing and Business Management, with 12 years dedicated to the beauty culture industry. She is an ISO & QMS quality auditor and a consultant to several companies. Nimesha specializes in training and lecturing in marketing, as well as in Hair & Beauty culture. She possesses the ability to identify the strategic marketing functions of a group, leading to increased profitability and efficiency.

She earned her Marketing qualifications at the London Business School and Wigan & Leigh College in England, as well as at SLIM. Nimesha has completed her NVQ Level 4 courses in Hair, Beauty & Bridal, an Associate Degree in Cosmetology, and has practical experience as a beautician and lecturer at GIA & Cuccio Academy.

The founder/president of NailSpa/Cuccio Sri Lanka (Pvt) Ltd. She is the appointed distributor and international educator for Cuccio Naturale and Star Nails USA.

Maduri Cruze

Master Educator

Maduri has 17 years of experience in Nail Tech and currently serves as one of the Directors at Nail Spa (Pvt) Ltd. She completed her nail technology course at Cuccio International Academy in the US and holds the position of Master Educator at Cuccio Sri Lanka Academy.
